I was up at Red Rock lake this week after searching and not finding any good aspen stands in the front range. We had to walk into the lake from the visitor center parking lot because the road was closed because of the government nonsense.
I really like this shot because of the way the tree line and mountain seem to follow each other.
Doug, this one looks about perfect to my eye. This is a very beautiful, flowing mountain scene, love the foreground water reeds. But, then again I'm a sucker for anything that has to do with the Indian Peak Wilderness!
Doug, I would love to shoot this scene with you when the lake begins to freeze around the edges. Imagine a nice cold and calm morning, after a fresh 4" of powder. Boy that would be crazy!

This is just gorgeous, Larry. The reeds in the foreground are an integral part of the composition lending this some dimension. Love those skies, too. And yeah, the treeline reflecting that saddle is pretty nice. An excellent image, sir!

Thanks for the comments Kane and John: very much appreciated.
Kane that sounds like a good idea, but I have been up there when there is snow and it is usually measured in feet and the wind blows up a storm, not too appealing to me at first brush. But if I could get there under the conditions you describe, it would be great!
