Until recently, I've been stuck in front of my computer working like a dog (circling my chair twice before sitting down) and following other photographers' adventures online. Although that is changing this weekend, all that computer time has led me to some great deals on photography gear.
Along that line, B&H and Adorama have the Canon PIXMA PRO-100, 13x19 printer for $99, including shipping and $50 worth of Canon paper. The catch is that is the price after the $300 mail-in rebate. The funny thing is that in order to qualify for the rebate you also have to buy $50 worth of Canon paper - which is why the both include it with the printer - so that you will automatically qualify for the $300 rebate.
So, if you're in the market for a larger format printer with good reviews and you don't mind waiting for a mail-in rebate, you may want to consider the current Canon deal at Adorama and B&H.

I have the Pro-100 (dye ink) and the 9500 MKII (pigment ink), and while the 9500 is my main 13x19 fine art printer, the Pro-100 is no slouch at all. For that price, this is a great way to cut your teeth on making your own color-managed prints. Don't let the dye ink thing bother you, they still carry an old bad rap of discoloration and short fade life. Canon's new ink for the Pro-100 is rated much longer, and the prints are stunning. Dye inks on glossier papers (or coated of any kind) do pop quite well. And the best advantage of the Pro-100 over the Pixma Pro9000 it replaced is that it has Black, Gray and Light Gray cartridges, so B&W prints come out VERY nice. For that price, no brainer! Plus it's wireless and I can print to it straight from my iThings.

Thanks for the heads up! I've had the idea of purchasing a new printer simmering for a while.
