While reviewing the shots I did a Red Rock lake last week I found this one that said convert me to B&W; and I did and really like the result. I used the channel mixer function is PS CS6 to do the conversion.

Really like the B&W conversion Larry. I liked your previous color image form here, but definitely the B&W a bit more. That section in the water with the rocks and refection is killer especially looking at the larger version. I need to get up there again, been many years.

I like your composition and reflection with the rocks in the water. Could you have moved to the right so the one rock was not in the main mountain's reflection (although that may have moved the firs too far left partially in front of the snowy peaks)? If you are open to cropping, a consideration would be cropping about half of the sky to right about the darker line that cuts across the clouds

This lends itself well to a b&w conversion, but you might consider doing so to your first image.
As Doug notes, the rock in the center intrudes upon the reflection too much, IMO.

Thanks Brent, Doug and John for the nice comments and constructive suggestions for improving the comp.
I agree the sky could stand a little cropping. As far as the rock in the middle of the reflection, not much that I could do there
because I was standing on the only solid and almost dry spot on that area of the lake shore ;O)>.
