I'm off on a trip to Pa,Virginias,Ky and Tennasee. A leisure zig zag thru the country. If anyone has any favorite spots to photograph or just see in that local, I'd appreciate the suggestions!
Thanks in advance!

The Smokies get a lot of attention. I like the area around Abingdon and Konarock Virginia. It's near the western end of Virginia. The Virginia highlands are along the AT without the crowds of the Smokies Have fun.

If you like photographing waterfalls, Ricketts Glen State Park in PA has 22 named ones in a 4-5 mile loop. The fall leaves may be gone by now, but still may be worth the trip. I haven't been there but I've heard its beautiful in the fall. The trail can be slick so make sure you have some good gripping boots. Don't really know much else in PA, especially if the fall color has passed. Enjoy your trip.

Richard, I was just in Western KY near Paducah. The leaves are just starting to turn and the drive from Paducah to Nashville takes you through some dense woods and past 2 huge reservoirs. Sadly, my meeting schedule didn't allow me to get out with a camera. It would be worth a look in my opinion.

If you're driving to the locations you mention, It would be worth taking a look into the Ozarks in norther Arkansas. Blanchard springs cavern is easy to reach with plenty of potential and a few non-photography things to fill time between good light. I happened into the area in springtime as it borders some great mountain biking. Lots of hardwood forest around the area and a couple outstanding creeks and cliffs running through the region.
