A quick visit to Ridgefield NWR yesterday now that it is back open. Lakes, ponds and sloughs are filling with water and birds are returning after summers drought. Several groups of canada geese, a pair of bald eagles and norther harriers busy buzzing the fields. I found a group of mallards in the afternoon sunlight with gorgeous gold water.
That'll do more than just fine, Craig! Good combo of the emerald Grren head of the mallard against the golden tones of the water. I may swing through the refuge tomorrow, if I can get myself going early enough.

I'm so glad the government nonsense is behind us (for a couple of months, anyway). Lovely drake Craig; so beautiful.
