Heading to Phoenix this coming week for business but I'm taking a couple extra days to spend some time shooting. Looking to spend next Friday and Saturday in the Sedona and hit West Oak Creek. How's it looking right now? Peter C., Doug K., Paul D., help a brother out with a report.

Perfect timing Bill. Oak Creek and West Fork are likely to peak this week. I had a great hike in last Wednesday with good results. You lose the good light very quickly there so try to be on the trail before sunrise. The good light is gone by 9-9:30. You can still get some intimate comps after that but need to look around for areas that aren't blown out. Might be able to get with you on Fri, booked on Sat.

Bill, I have not been up West Fork yet, but hopefully will go early this week and be able to give a report. If Friday and Saturday are your options, I would suggest Friday simply to avoid more of the weekend crowd.

Might be there in Wednesday or Thursday morning depending on work commitments. Just the morning - heading up to Moab from there.

Thanks for the information guys. Unfortunately I won't be able to get there till Friday mid-morning but I've shot there in the afternoon before so I'll figure something out.

Bill, based on yesterday's hike, colors are peak right now. Hopefully no strong winds will come this week. I liked the area about an hour up the trail and up to the subway.
