Canyon de Chelly
The weekend brought me past Canyon de Chelly near Chinle, Arizona. I tried to come away with some images different from Spider Rock and White House Ruin. One other image is posted in the fall color reports as I think the cottonwoods will be nice this coming weekend. Feel welcome to pick nits and offer suggestions.

#1 a side canyon leading into the main canyon

#2 the morning sun backlit the cottonwoods. I vacillated on the amount of contrast to use here and wonder if less would work better.

#3

Well, #3 is the only one that really works for me, Doug. Even then, I kinda wish you had arrived just a shade earlier so the trees might have been completely lit up.
Canyon de Chelly is a tough place to photograph well (at least for me). Your 'signature' telephoto compositions may be the key here. You coming back next weekend?

I like the comp in all 3 but we are so used to seeing the extraordinary light in your images that these don't hold up next to your other work quite as well. I do like the play of light and shadow on the rock face in #3 but do wish the trees were all in light.
