As the topic reads. Who else is headed to Zion for fall color? I'll be there the 4th through the 7th.

Joshua,
I have contemplated the weekend of the 2nd, but with my dog, the narrows and subway are not an option. Did you get anything from Capital that evening?

I'm leaving for Zion on 10/31 and will be there through 11/12. I'm doing the Subway on 11/3 and will probably do the Narrows 11/4 or 5-ish. We're dragging our travel trailer over and already have a campsite at The Watchman campground, site B25. Y'all stop and say "hi" if you see us!

Any information on what stage the colors may be the first week of November? Since I have never been to Zion, trying to figure out the best timing for a visit.

I'd bought tickets to fly in, but reports from Ben Horne indicate that the maples are already down, and the cottonwoods are past peak. Everyone needs to make their own decisions, but I'm likely to cancel my flight. A friend in Kanab tells me that yesterday and today have had strong winds and rain.
If you're within driving distance, Zion is always a great place. Having moved to Seattle, I'm not sure I can afford the cost of flying down and renting a car if the leaves are gone. Thankfully Southwest will let me keep the price of the flights as a credit towards future purchases...

Wow, can't say how much I appreciate that info. I was set to make the drive from the front range, but I was really looking forward to the maples, in particular.
Search @BenHorne on Twitter and you'll get his updates. I can only add that the last three years, when I was living relatively nearby, the cottonwoods behind the Human History Museum (the Temples of the Virgin amphitheater) weren't nearly as far along as the webcam Doug linked to.
I'm not there on the ground, but it sounds/looks bad from here.

Darn! I just got my time-off approved today to go to Zion next week. Thanks for saving me from a wasted trip.

Gathering at a local watering hole to commiserate this lousy fall might be an idea.
With the trees all shot up, I be focusing on the rocks.
Looks like 11/10 for Subway - a few of the key shots dont depend on trees. I originally thought 11/3 and could still do that if plans brew.
Otherwise this weekend is mostly Narrows; and I may score a permit on Saturday AM for areas east of Kanab for Sunday. A possible Saturday 11/9 might be Toroweap as my local offroad club will be at Sand Hollow near St George that weekend.
Staying at Driftwood Lodge this weekend, Cable Mountain next
If anyone wants to meet up, or add them to a permit for one of those dates, or just catch some brews - email me.
