NIK help - plug in has disappeared from PS

Tonight I started up CS4 and got an error message: The program can't start because MSVCP110.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.

After trying to close the error box several times, PS finally comes up, but my NIK plug in panel is totally gone. I just used it a couple days ago and was working fine.

I found one of the individual programs and tried to run it that way, but get the same message.

I downloaded NIK from the internet - so no disc. How can I reinstall, without having to buy it all over again? I don't remember getting a serial number or anything when I purchased it on the 'net.

This is exactly why I hate the idea of having to go to a cloud based design...if I had a disc, I could easily reinstall.

A couple of suggestions:

1. Have you tried doing a system restore to a days before you got the first missing .dll message? Sometimes that can fix the problem. Have you installed any new software lately? If so, go to a system restore point to before you installed that software.

2. If you downloaded NIK to the same computer you are using now, it should be in your downloads folder...unless you've deleted download files. Once you find it in downloads, you can copy it to a flash drive. If you purchased it over the net, you should have gotten a purchase confirmation with the serial number included...look in old emails if you haven't deleted them cuz if you reinstall, most likely you will need the SN again.

Hope some of this helps!

Angela,
Nik no longer uses purchase confirmations in the post-Google acquisition world (and their help pages aren't nearly as comprehensive as before), but if you contact them, they'll tell you how to re-download & install without charge.

I got the same message and did a system restore last night to see if that helped. I got the system error message today still, and it won't close out either.

I did a reinstall of the Google Full-Install and it resolved. I'll see if it returns when I start up tonight.

NIK collection also shows up under filters dropdown menu in PS, however the .dll message might mean that is impossible as well. Good luck.

Check out the NPN Discussion Forum where Angela has posted the same question and there appears to be a solution.
