Went to the Bells this weekend to work on some time lapse for a huge project im working on this winter. This is the same spot i waas at 7 years ago--in one of my first NPN posts I put up this shot of the Bells, thinking i'd get comments like "Nice shot"
Instead, I got Jody telling me the shot was crooked. Well, at the time i wasn't too fond of that comment, but in retrospect it was one of the best comments I've ever gotten--it humbled me and got me to work my tail off to get better. I think ive gotten better--but judge for yourself, the full story is here:
It's confirmed, NPN RMNP forum does exist, thank you Stan for your post. I love your above image Stan. And I love your idea, which is outside the box when one thinks of the Bells. Quite frankly not many people drive from Pueblo to Maroon Lake, and do a hike to Crater Lake before sunrise in the ice and snow. Better yet, you had this image visualized in your head. Just awesome.
I noticed your Black and White image on your interesting blog of the entire mountain with the nice creek running through the foreground, that's a sweet shot Stan.

Stan,
You are a die hard photographer! The BW image is outstanding! Very dramatic and original. Nice work!

Nice shooting Stan. I too like the B&W image, it is a real stunner! Thanks for sharing.

Stan, I just finished reading your blog. Makes me wish I had made the hike up to Crater when I was there at end of September. I like most the first image, the B&W, and Jody's comment. The sky in the B&W may be too black for my tastes though.

Ha, Jody is too funny...
yeah, i definitely pushed the black--but it's actually not as black as the red channel, which is what i was originally gonna use.
