Castle Creek
Back at the end of September, I had the chance to spend a few days up Castle Creek outside of Aspen. I had never been to the area before so here are a few takes. Feel free to offer any needed suggestions.

#1 one of only 2 colored sunsets in my 10 days in CO this fall.

Doug, I find the Castle Creek area difficult to photo from the road area. Ive seen a bunch of stuff from up on Annie Hill (Richmond Rd) or the Taylor rd that looks like killer stuff. I'm down with your macro #5 image and your #6 image. I like your tonalities of #6.

Nice series Doug. I like the layering on #4 and love the comp on Z-gulch (#3), but I think #5 is my favortie of the group.

Well, you know that my favorite is #6, but #5 is just as beautiful in its own right. No suggestions there.
The skies in the first two really look kinda funky to me here. The autumn colors aren't really happening either, so these don't quite deserve a place with the best of your work. #'s 3 & 4 are pretty good, although again the relative lack of autumnal colors keep these from full potential.
If I could have walked away with two images from this autumn as good as the last two of yours here, I would be one happy camper!

5 is a keeper! I also like 6 for the same reason Kane does. The tonalities are excellent.

I'm a sucker for frosted autumn color, so #5 is my favorite by far.

#5 is excellent, #6 is very nice too. I actually really like the comp in #3, but the color palette doesn't really work, just too much green in the aspens to provide the needed contrast with the conifers. I wonder if it might not work better in B&W.
