My website is hopelessly out of dare, and I just don't have time to sit for hours with web design software and re-do it. I'm thinking of getting a Zenfolio account and directing my domain name to it.
If you're using Zenfolio, do you like it? I'd like to see what a Zenfolio site looks like.
If you're directing your domain to them, how is that working?
Are there any good alternatives to Zenfolio?
Thanks!

Bob, in a moment of poor thinking, I agreed to photograph my daughter's field hockey season. I created a very simply zenfolio site to host those images. For what that site it, I actually have found it quite functional and easy to use, upload images to, etc. I structured it where folks could download images they want or order prints through mpix without going through me. But you can price anyway you want. That site is www.mwfieldhockey.zenfolio.com It's not the same as the type of photography site (edfuhr.com) I got through Jack Brauer's great company, widerange galleries, but it may be an option for you. Hope this helps. Ed

Bob,
Either Zenfolio or Smugmug are good options for a fairly quick, easy, and professional-looking website. I tried both a few months back and settled on smugmug because I liked the slightly more polished/contemporary look. Both have easily customizable templates. There are minor advantages/disadvantages either way and I think it just comes down to personal preference. I believe either one will let you do a 30-day trial so you could try experimenting with both. I'm not a pro but sell a few prints now and then; you're welcome to check out my site HERE. Good luck!

P.S. Colorado Springs is my home town - headed back there for Thanksgiving next week!
I've used Zenfolio for a couple of years now and find it easy to use. I also have a Fine Art America site that gets a lot more traffic, so I haven't been as diligent about keeping my zenfolio site updated as I should be. You can take a look at the zenfolio site at www.lostcanyonphotography.com

Bob,
I switched to Zen last year and really like it. No, I don't make a living off that site, but having a easily customizable site was important to me. That said, Smug was very good as well. Click on my www link to view a setup that only took 15 minutes.

Bob,
I agree, both Zenfolio and SmugMug are good sites and easy to maintain. My own personal site is Zenfolio and I maintain a SmugMug site for a friend. Here are the URLs to both:
An excellent hosting site is http://asmallorange.com/. Fast servers, extremely reliable and fairly priced.

Thanks for all the replies! Some good info here... I've got a great hosting company now (reliability and customer service is great), but their web building tools aren't great and I don't have time to start from scratch. I may do a hybrid where non-photo stuff is on a site I create and then photo pages get directed to Zenfolio (or Smugmug).
BTW, all your sites look GREAT!

I found the learning and usage process on SmugMug to be amazingly fast. (Lend their UI team to the ACA developers!)
What I particularly like about SmugMug is the Lightroom link. It is very easy to keep my LR exports to SmugMug sync-ed up.
