I am sure that most of you are ware of the current plight effecting the Rhino population of South Africa, particularly in wildlife areas managed by SANParks, most particularly Kruger National Park.
I am also sure that many of you may have made donations to a variety of organisations to assist in our battle against this scourge.
I think that many of you will be appalled by the following statement made by the CEO of SANParks Dr David Mabunda.
“In recent times we have seen new trends developing with millions of rand being collected from unsuspecting citizens by unscrupulous outfits claiming to be doing work for anti-poaching initiatives. It is distressing to report that with the exception of the SANparks Honorary Rangers' initiatives and the Unite Against Poaching camping led by Unitrans Volkswagen during 2013, SANParks has not received a cent from independent rhino fund-raisers. We are in a crisis situation that requires funding for expert human and technical resources”
There is now a website that you can give donations through to ensure that your funds go to where they are needed.
