The voting has ended and it's time to announce the chosen images from this year's Fall Color Contest. We had more selections than last year and the voting was very spread out between the images! Great job everyone. Please join the moderators in thanking all who uploaded entries and voted. Congratulations to the winners too!
This year our 1st Place winner was Kane Englebert for his photo "And There Was Light," a classic view of Mt. Sneffels in Colorado. Kane wins the top prize of $112.50. Congrats Kane!

Second prize of $75 goes to John Kyler for his image "aSpen," a perfect title to this photo. Congrats John!

It goes without saying I appreciate every vote I received for my submitted image of Mount Sneffles from CR7. I'm especially proud that a panoramic image received such a nice response. Ive been fighting for panos for years!
I'll admit, this shot doesn't happen without my friend Doug Koepsel. Stuck in the Carbondale area, waiting for the late color to show some glory, I met Doug for a few nice fall shots. After a morning shot of Sopris we met up for a cup of coffee in Carbondale. What should we do, hang out in this awesome area to shoot more bluebird skies, or invest money and time to drive south to the San Juans where the weather looked Daunting. I'm a Elk Mountain Junkie, I'll stick around because of my comfort anywhere in these mountains. Doug, at some point soon needed to head south. As usual I was indecisive.
I remember looking Doug in the eye and saying, "Lets Go." We drove straight to this spot. Luckily the storm was moving in as we arrived. Later, we met great friends Jimmy Gekas, Max Voung, Glenn Tunely and enjoyed an evening with awesome light. Later we had a beer to celebrate the night.
Thanks again,
Kane

Congrats to you Kane, John, Jeff, Rod and Matt for your very nice images!
Great stuff everyone, winners and others! I could offer a long list of personal honorable mentions.
Joshua, I notice you've got one of my shots, "When the Mountains Glow," attributed to Ken Henke on the RMNP gallery. Ken's got three gorgeous lush Colorado shots, he doesn't need my hardscrabble central Nevada scene dragging his average down
Congratulations to the Winners - gorgeous images !!
