Foggy Sunrise
Canon 5dIII, 600mm, 1/320sec @ f/5, ISO 100
Ridgefield Wildlife Refuge

A couple of weeks ago I was at Ridgefield testing my new acquisition--a 600mm lens. So much fun.

It was foggy and as the sun came up over the distant trees, I took this shot, really just to see what the compression looked like...anyway, I kinda like how it turned out. This is full frame, just a bit cropped off the top.

Cheers,
David

I don't understand why you "kinda like how it turned out". No "kinda" for me. You can substitute really for kinda.

Congrats on the new gear! And a good place to try it out at Ridgefield. So fun when you can see and photograph birds "up close" with the long glass.
This image is moody in the way only fog can create. Nice warm color looks great, but it's that misty, mystical look of the fog that's so cool. Can't beat a great combo like you caught here.

Sweet, David. I like the layers of fog in front of the sun. Congratulations on the new glass.

Got the 600, eh? That's a beefy piece of gear! Amazing image... absolutely love it!

Sweet! Setting sun and ...oh boy...moon shots...loads of fun stuff with that 600mm. This is a great shot.
