Guadalupe Mountains Sunset
Another sunset from my October trip to the Guadalupe Mountains of far west Texas. If you have seen some of my other posts (or ever look at my blog) you have seen some of the images I got this last fall photographing the lake that formed on the salt flats west of the Guadalupes after a huge flash flood event at the end of September.

This was my third sunset at the ephemeral desert lake and it turned out to be the charm as the saying goes.

The afternoon was mostly rainy but the magic gap light happened in the west and I caught one of the best sunsets I saw in 2013. It was one where the light was happening in every direction and went on and on.

In also what is the norm for these type of events in west Texas, I caught this epic sunset and then never saw a cloud the rest of the trip.

You can see more on my blog

And one of the rain to the south across the salt flats.

Awesome images Darren, one and all. You not only experienced it, you captured something few will ever see. Fortunately for us we get to see this rare event through your "eyes".

Thanks for sharing and Happy Holidays to you!! :wavey:
