In my experience, it was far and away the strangest season for the fall colors in Colorado---up to two weeks later than usual and interrupted right in the middle of peak time by a significant snowstorm. Yet, especially in Northwest Colorado, it turned out to be one of the best seasons ever---partly because of the storms which produced beautiful light but more because of the lengthened season---what I called the lingering autumn. Here's a look at what I consider my 13 favorites from autumn 13: Here

Nice work Rod! You've tapped colors I didn't think existed this year!

Really nice set Rod. I'm kind of drawn to night shots and tree lined country roads so my favorites are #4, #8, and #13. But I like them all!

Rod, you had a great haul of gold as usual. Very enjoyable!

Rod, they're all wonderful, but #11 really made me stop and linger. Wished I could've been there to see it for myself.

Indeed, a sweet set of great fall images. Glad I had a chance to shoot the area this fall, being it was some of the best fall scenery I've witnessed! I particularly appreciated your suggestions and shooting with you.
A very nice set Rod. I would have to say that #9 is my favorite.

Thanks, guys....Ken, it was great to meet you and show you some of my favorite spots---that Buffalo Pass Glow shot that you had in the fall color contest was terrific---and the rest of us left too soon!

Gorgeous set of work. My fave is the Rainbow Ridge shot.

A fine set. The "Approaching Storm" pano stands out for me. Looks like "13" has become your lucky number.

Rod, I like how you have used the roads to lead through the aspens. #11 is my favorite as I like the glow you processed. In the Zion image, the rocks in the extreme LLC catch my eye. How did your sunset images from the end of Castle Cr Rd turn out?

Fantastic images, Rod. Numbers 7 and 11 are my favorites. You capitalized really well on the good conditions in the NW Co area; wish I would have made it up that way. Thanks for sharing!
Beautiful set, Rod! My favorites are #6, 7, 9 & 11. I'm glad you let me tag along with you and Monte. I thoroughly enjoyed your company and you were an awesome guide. Despite not having the reputation as a fall hot spot, I've found your neck of the woods to be very productive and gorgeous! Wishing you the best of light, clouds & foliage in 2014!
