I have some free time this March and am thinking of coming to Arizona (flying from SFO to Phoenix). Does anybody know when the peak time for wildflowers in Catalina State Park is? Any other suggestions for seasonal treats in this part of the world?

Tony, I would follow The Wild in Arizona blog for flower updates this spring, and also get Paul and Colleen's guide.

Last year the flower bloom was light around Catalina and was better up around the Superstition Mountains. I keep pretty good contacts around the area so contact me as time approaches. The Desert USA wildflower report does a good job too.

The last couple of times I was in the Tucson area for wildflowers, I chose the 1st week and half of April and was not disappointed.
Weather does vary year to year so don't expect this year to be identical.
