Hello David

Thought I would be the first to post a comment, missed a lot of your images from your recent trip to Scotland, great stuff. I like the composition and colours and pose.

Hi David,

Nice clean and sharp image. A crop just above the OOF FG rock maybe? Still a fine image as it is.

have to agree with what David has said - really nice detail in the rock - I like the composition too. The OOF rocks in the background tend to draw my eye from the bird a bit - but still a top notch image.

Hi Dave,

Well done! Lovely shot with gorgeous warm light. Marvellous detail in rocks and bird and very complimentary background. Just a thought, when I scrolled down the image - the browser window cropped it - and it actually suited a 4:5 crop ending at the boulder join on the bottom left of the image. Love it nonetheless! :toast:

Hi David

Very attractive portrait shot, nice rocks and habitat. Only minor nit is the bird is positioned quite centrally in the frame. Maybe having the bird a bit lower would improve the composition (and be better for a front cover). Also cropping from the top works as well for me. Overall an excellent shot, I'd be happy with that one.

A bit more DOF would have tipped this to almost perfect.
Still good though.

Hi NIck

This year grouse numbers north of the River Dee I believe are generally quite good - but not so good to the south!
