2013 A Baker's Dozen
2013 was a good year photographically. I tried to get out as much as possible on weekends in Arizona and had ten days in Colorado for fall colors. Here are thirteen images chosen to represent the past year. Thank you for having a look.

Well that's an awesome year for you Doug. Those huge Grand Canyon vistas are all stunning, and I love your Coal Canyon images as well.

A wonderful set, Doug. I was particularly captivated by "Aspens and Fir." That has to be one of the best Fall colors shots I've ever seen. :toast:

Thanks for sharing, Doug. I enjoyed all of the images. Many of your Arizona photos brought back great memories of my time hiking and exploring the area while I lived there.

Really nice work here. I didn't make it to AZ this year, so those shots are making me want to get back...

What a great selection of images, Doug! You included my personal favorites from your Fall trip to Colorado, and I'm glad you included the placid scene from Oak Creek canyon here. One I had not seen and which is my favorite is 'Zen Creek Fall'. Did you name that falls? If so, it's perfect, and that lone rock ties it altogether.
I'll see you in Az. Hwys magazine when they announce their winners.

You had a stellar year, Doug! I especially like electric coal, Crystal Mill and aspen/fir shot. It was great running into you at the Bells (I have a VERY similar shot if you can believe it  ). Maybe our paths will cross again in 2014. I hope you have a great 2014 with more awesome images!

Doug,

Some beautiful work. There's nothing that beats making the time to get out there. I'd have to say that the Hart Meadow shot is a personal favorite since I used to go through that area with some regularity, and I miss it...

"Electric Coal" and "Zoro Red" are standouts to me. "Electric Coal" for obvious reasons; it's hard to beat a good lightning shot. Do you think you could bring up the shadows in that one to downplay the contrast in the canyon? "Zoro Red" would be my overall pick, though, for the combination of light and weather. Great shot there.

Good luck in '14!
