Male Goldeneye
Thanks to everyone that commented on my last post, as promised here is another image that I managed to take from my recent trip to Scandanavia. Not as low as the Slavonian Grebe image as I wanted to include the mirror image. Thanks for looking.

Canon EOS 1D MkII, 500mm Lens, F4, 1/125, ISO Rating 200

Wonderful colours. Like the low angle view. Looks a bit soft around the head and eye on my monitor.

Hi Danny

Love the composition and colours - also the fact that the FG water is still and the BG has ripples!

Very nice, lovely setting but i think it could do with a bit more USM.

Nice work Danny, great colours in the water, good contrast between the birds. Did you get this in your floating hide as these birds are hard to get close to.

Hello Danny
Another excellent image, maybe a touch more USM but that's a minor point.
Best wishes

Great choice to go for the higher viewpoint and reveal a remarkable reflection. Its absolutely perfect! Well framed with great colours, superb light and you've even managed to show the iridescent green head plumage. Well done! :toast:

Gorgeous image, love the effect you have captured in the water, sharpness looks fine to me has a natural feel to it if that makes sense...

Good job with both the exposure, and a great setting. :toast: Re: the eye, I always find that Goldeneyes eyes look a bit strange (soft).

Hi Danny
Perfect reflection, I agree with Helge about them looking strange, with the the two tone funny shape neck there looks like a chunk missing out the back.

Hi Danny

Great stuff, superb colours and reflection. Nicely exposed as well, although the whites in the neck are just beginning to go. Excellent work.
