For my birthday/Christmas/Anniversary/Father's Day I bought myself a new toy. Picked up a Canon EOS M with both the 22mm and 18-55 lenses from a guy on Craigslist. When my wife decided we should make a quick trip to the Black Hills to visit her Dad I figured it was a perfect chance for a shake down cruise. Here are a few images I found today around the ranch. I'll be posting a review of the camera on my blog in a few days.

#6 Last one. This one is a little depressing for me. Rain followed by Ice followed by Wet Snow followed by 60mph winds equals mass destruction in the aspen grove. I've been photographing this grove near my In-Laws' ranch for nearly 4 decades and now it looks like I need to find another grove of mature aspens nearby.

#4 A little out of order. When I looked at the image again I was embarrassed that it was so blue. Here's a more color correct version

I like your building details.
I bought my wife the same set when they were on sale this summer - after Canon fixed the slow focus issue.
An incredibly GREAT deal that I just couldn't pass up! She loves the camera in full auto mode. I dislike not having a viewfinder in bright sun, but the image quality is superb. Too bad the initial high price and focus issues killed sales.
I also got the EOS lens adapter (for me), so the camera could serve as a back-up in an emergency.
We took it to Europe this fall. Fortunately the back-up option was never needed.
I must say my wife's photography has never been better.
Will you be getting the 11-22mm ?

Bill, my initial plan was to get the adapter and use my 10-22 with it but I'm pretty impressed with these little lenses so I'll give that some thought. I thought it was going to be a pain working with touch screen instead of dials but it's proving to be pretty efficient. So far the camera is a hit and will be perfect for hauling around on my business travels.

A very nice set. I like the detail you get from this camera. Looks like you'll be enjoying it for quite a while.

I also LOVE the touch screen. Just feel silly when I switch to the 5D3, tap the screen and nothing happens.
If I were using the EOS M as my primary travel camera, I'd skip the adapter and pick up a used 11-22mm.
BTW I just saw that Canon has filed patents for a 16-120 IS STM (115mm overall length) and 18-200 IS STM (118mm overall length). http://www.canonrumors.com/
If they can maintain the great optical quality of the lenses released so far, the 18-200 would be a great, single travel lens !
