A huge thank you to everyone who attended the shindig tonight! We had a great time! It's nice to re-connect and hear of where everyone has been and where they're going next...
I'd especially like to thank:
Brent Dozerman for arranging for the venue, and gift certificates
Tim Emerson for the Duraplaq gift certificates
Erik Stensland for e-books gift certificates
Jim Erhardt at NPN for very nice raffle prizes
Todd Caudle for all the free calendars
Joshua Hardin for the free magazines and calendars
Everyone who brought photos for the photo swap (every photo was great!)
And last, but certainly not least, everyone who brought food and drink!

The date is set, the location is set and now we are ready to PARTY!!!!!
Date: January 25, 2014 5:00PM - 8:00 or so
Location: Sign Language
275 Mariposa
Denver, CO 80223
Thanks to Brent Dozerman and his boss for letting us use their place again.
Directions: from both north and south, your best bet is I-25, exit 6th Avenue, going east. Turn right onto Kalamath Street, go three blocks south, turn right on West 3rd Avenue. Go west two blocks, take left turn onto South Mariposa Street. Sign Language is right on the corner. Proceed half a block, turn right into open gate, park anywhere in there or on the street. Map:http://tinyurl.com/lxw6548
Parking: Plenty of parking available inside the fenced in area on Mariposa, as well as on the street of both Mariposa on the east and 3rd just north of the building.
Entrance: Enter at the door inside the gated area; it’s behind all the hanging banners on the east side of our building. The main Sign Language entrance facing Mariposa (275) on the corner will be locked. I’ll have signs up with some directions.
We will also have the infamous White Elephant exchange so start thinking about what you want to bring for this world class exchange.
Now, we need some folks to step up and help us make this event another huge success. Please sign up by posting your reply that you plan to attend and what you will bring...food, beer, soda, cash.
Almost forgot...There aren't many chairs available there, so if you'd like to rest your tush, please bring a chair with you.
Thanks,
Jack, Josh, Bob F. and Bob M.

I'll be there! I'll bring some quality Colorado Springs made brews. And something for the white elephant.

Are there any specific rules for White elephant exchange ? I remember a couple of years back perhaps the moderators posted that they wanted everyone to bring only the print ( not framed ), can someone please let me know ?

Well, Good news/bad news. The bad news first: I have to bail on the Shindig this year. The good news: My daughter has been selected by Special Olympics Colorado to participate in a special snowboard race at the X Games in Aspen on the 26th. Guess I'll be going to Aspen and hanging with the celebrities instead of the shindig. See ya'll in the Spring.

Soubhik, I found these rules from a few years back.
I hope there are some rules. (As opposed to last time...)
The White Elephant rules we used here at work recently were:
* all items hidden/covered to start
* each person gets a number and play proceeds in numerical order from there
* person picks an item, or "steals" an item already taken
* items "stolen" are replaced by a newly picked item, or via another "steal".
* items cannot be immediately "stolen" back.
* items can only pass into 3 sets of hands - i.e. two "steals". After that, the item is "frozen".
* If the first person to choose still has their original item at the end, they can choose to "steal" in exchange for the item they have; this proceeds as per a normal "steal" - i.e. the person "stolen" from can in turn "steal" from someone else, until everyone's happy or there are no more items available to "steal".

hey Bob...do we have any tickets for the raffle? Anne had some last year but I'm not sure if we need to get some
Posted by Bob Falcone on January 18, 2014 at 12:28 PM
Jack, Brent tells me he has tickets.

Bill, sorry we'll miss you this year, but WAY TO GO for your daughter!

I should be able to go. Looks like we might be short on beer! I'll bring some Northern Colorado microbrews.
Sorry guys. I am not going to able to attend on Saturday. Hopefully will see you in Moab in the springtime.

Hey Gang, I am battling a nasty sinus cold (hit me at lunchtime on Tuesday). I am unsure of whether I will be healthy by Saturday. If I am 100% over this, I will be there. If not, then I'll be staying home and avoiding public contact so that I do not spread the cold on to others!
I am hoping that I can be 100% healthy...

Sorry you won't make it Richie. Be nice to see you again, Rod. Pete, hope you're feeling better and can join us!
