What kind of quadcopter and gimbal did you get, Jack? I've been thinking about getting one myself.

I got a DJI Phantom2 with zemuse gimbal kit. Mounted a Hero 3 black edition. It is a very steady setup with little vibration and the gimbal really keeps the camera straight in windy conditions.

Note to self: Bring a helmet if you go shooting with Jack.

Great toy !! You must have fooled Santa into thinking you were a good boy this year !

So how was the learning curve ??? Any crashes, yet ?

Bill, this thing virtually flies itself! Start slow and don't try quick movements until you get used to it. Yes they can crash. They are pretty versatile but they can break and if they do, it's expensive.

Jack, to quote the Will Smith character in "Independence Day" ... "I gotta git me one of these!" :toast:

Outstanding! How about a fly-around of the City & County of Denver building. I've always wanted to see what that would look like from an aerial perspective.

I'm fairly certain Santa meant to leave that under my tree instead of the pair of socks that were left by mistake. So if you could drop that off at my house where it belongs, I'd appreciate it!

Do you plan to take still photos with this? And do you have First Person Viewer for it?

Grant, I hope to do some stills, don't think they will be nears as good as dslr since it is GoPro. I do Have fpv monitor...didn't want googles.

That's awesome, Jack! That looks like too much fun. Be careful and don't crash it!
