It seems there were a large number of members who commented about not getting out as often as desired in 2013 - count me as part of that group. This year was the first of my life that I haven't spent at least a month in Colorado but I did finally complete visiting all the major national parks west of the Mississippi with a visit to Yosemite, Kings Canyon and Sequoia last February. The closest I came to Colorado was an August trip to the Green River area of Wyoming where I photographed the wild horses in the area. I heartily recommend this to all - it was a spectacular experience. Here are my favorites for 2013:

Really nice set Doug. I especially liked Sequoia Sunset, Merced Color, The Large and the Small of it, and Dangerous Dance.

Best to you in 2014. I like the dof and background with Grenade. Of the landscapes, my pick would be Tunnel View Sunset. Did you make it to Lees Ferry?

Nice. I think I'll fave the Merced River shot. All the best in 2014!

Doug, I did make it to Lees Ferry - 33rd time fishing the Ferry. E-mail with details will be sent.

Your "Baker's Dozen" are outstanding - "Electric Coal" and "Aspen & Fir" really captivate me. I keep going back to see them again and again. But, everyone of them are "wall hangers".

Nice images, Doug. My faves were Merced Color, Tunnel View, Dangerous Dance and Half Dome Sunset. Good luck to you in 2014, hopefully you'll get out to shoot more.

Nice diverse and beautiful set! Sequoia Sunset really was captured well!

Loved the mustang shots! Those were some great action images! Were those on the mesa northeast of Green River?

Don,

You're correct - the mustang shots were captured on the mesa northeast of Green River. I enjoyed this shoot so much I plan to make it an annual outing - so much to see and shoot. In addition to the mustangs, we saw pronghorns, elk, mule deer, grouse, eagles, hawks, fox, coyotes, and a badger. Great fun.

Doug,

Do we ever feel like we've gotten out enough? When I haven't been out, I want to get out more. When I do get out, I want to get out more, too...

Congratulations on finishing up visiting the major national parks of the west, though -- there's lots of them, and they're all worth some time. Looks like you had a great time in Yosemite and Sequoia. Having lived in Wyoming for a couple years, I particularly like "Running Wild" and "End of the Day", which are reminiscent of the wide open spaces there.

Good luck getting out more in '14!
