Well, I guess this is what will be my first RMNP Mod post and I want to thank Josh, Jack, & Jim for making things easy. I look forward to seeing the variety of "Silhouette and Shadow" images by RMNP contributors this month.
I will start things off with a sunset shot along the Santa Maria River in Central Arizona. Lucky for me, I have a friend who owns the 200 acre Giddy Up Ranch where this was taken. Grad ND's and saturation have been liberally used to create the image.

Okay, I'll be the first to break the trend of silhouettes. My wife and I spent a long weekend in Taos a while back and on Sunday morning I went over to San Francisco de Asis to look for images. Duh...Sunday morning...mass....people were gathering around the church so I wasn't able to shoot any of the elevations and started looking for compositions elsewhere. I happened to look up and see the shadow of the cross on the bell tower wall.

Another theme off to a great start, guys.
Here's a tree I thought had nice symmetry and trunk lines.

Thought I'd pull this one back out of the closet. :-)
Got this in 2009, east of Phoenix. I pulled over, rolled down the window and rested the camera on the car door. Don't ask me where the tripod was, lol!

Might as well get a silhouette in the mix. This image was captured about 100 yards from my back door one stormy afternoon in November.
