"Salt River Cotton"
Peter Coskun, Bob Miller, Scott, and I set up a photo shoot just after Christmas. The location - the Salt River east of Phoenix Arizona. Even this late in the year, the Cottonwoods were busting orange. Of the shots, this was my favorite crop using a 50mm lens.

"Cold Creek Fountain"
Along Highway 38 on the road to Big Bear lies a small falls. Yes, this is in California, but it may as well be somewhere in the Rockies. I like how the curves of this falls resembles a fountain. A couple photos from a ham radio club retreat just before Thanksgiving.

"Baldwin Chute"
In the hills above Baldwin Lake near Big Bear is a remnants of an ore chute. Mining remains active n the area.

"Aguerreberry Point"
I originally selected this location in Death Valley to catch the Super Moon this past June 22. The moon was indeed large as it crested the horizon, but the setting sun was too strong and the moon faint. I stayed in the area to see if I can make some lemonade. This is a location I want to revisit. Modest 4x4 is needed to reach this vista.

Finally, some news with a shot I used in our own Fall Contest. I submitted a re-crop to the local Las Vegas Camera Store "B and C" photo contest and got Third Place! The first photo contest I was a finalist, so on my way

Karl, I can see why you posted your Salt River image first. There's a lot to like in that photo. Well done!
Nice group of images. The Salt River photograph is my favorite of this bunch, though Augerreberry Point is a contender based on locale only. Amazing place.

Karl, I like the tight crop composition from the Salt. Judging from the saguaros and vegetation in the mountainside, it looks like the cyan could be reduced a little.

That Salt River area looks very worthy of year end exploration.
