The full moon was to rise at sunset last night and be towards Vishnu Temple. The clear skies promised a nice earth shadow, so I took the afternoon away from the desk and headed to the Canyon. There were very few tourists at Yaki Point this time of year, which made the evening enjoyable. The walk on the road out to Yaki with my dog included passing by about a dozen unconcerned cow elk within 20 yards of the road.

#2 Wotan's Moon- the moon came from behind Wotan's Throne. The atmosphere apparently made some distortions upon the moon.

Doug, that wide angle shot is just spectacular!

Nice shot.

Thanks. In retrospect, perhaps the wide horizontal shot needs a little brightening and the sky could be cooler to change from peach to pink?

Lovely pastels in both, but I do like the first better.

I love both shots, particularly the first. I don't think it needs brightening or cooler color, it looks great as is. My only nit is that it appears by looking at the line of the earth shadow there is a slight tilt down to the right. On the second I might try a crop of some off the bottom as most of the interesting elements are at the top of the image and the crop may help focus more on them.
