Hoar Frost
Colorado Springs this morning was cold, foggy, cloudy and gloomy. As I was heading up US24 to lead a group hike to Pancake Rocks, I came upon the threshold of the inversion layer, and captured this. Just a little further up the road (maybe a 10th of mile) there was no frost, no snow and a couple of miles further up, the temperature was 30 degrees warmer.

Upslope is a wonderful thing. It's the main reason I wish the USFS would hurry up and get Rampart Range Road reopened.

A hard subject to translate, Bob, but you did really well here. The blue sky and red rocks show it off well, too.
