Hey,
Thought I'd throw in some more pelicans.
Nothing to exciting about the photo but I thought it was an ok portrait. These 3 were in the lead of a large group and would kind of "fluff up" at each other now and then which is what they're doing here - trying to see who's boss probably.
Taken at the local ponds along the Yampa again.

White birds can be tough to expose for!

Pelicans by Peacock? Brilliant!

Nothing esciting? I think it's great! Nice how you got a trio to line up so nicely, and have their great colors reflected. I love it.

Technicals? TECHNICALS? ... lets see if I can remember.

ISO 250 (just cuz I could), ss (priorty) ~ 1/800 or close by, f stop - was trying to keep it at 8 or under, Sigma 100-300 @ 300 + 1.4 TC, cropped off approx. 10-15 %, Canon 30D, tripod w/ball head slightly loose. (I'd sure like to have one of those gimbal heads)
I wasn't using my blind but it would have been handy.

Commentary: I really like this lens, it maintains f4 throughout the zoom range (f5.6 w/TC) and still very sharp (IMO) @ f4 and zoomed to 300 mm. And it's built like a tank.

I love the flexibility of digital in selecting different ISO "speeds" when photographing critters in changing/low light conditions, especially when there is so little noise at ISO 800.
