Help: Colorado Photography Locations suggestions

Hi. I'm trying to get my vacation schedule planned for work and this will be the first year we haven't gone over to Hawai'i. So I'm looking for location suggestions.

I was thinking about a week in Telluride in later part of Sept for fall colors and a week around July 4th in Created Butte for wildflowers. I want to do a long weekend in the spring but don't have any ideas. Thoughts? Is the 4th of July too early for wildflowers in CB? Please let me know if my ideas are way off or f I need to rethink things.

Early July is usually pretty good for wildflowers in CB, and with the amount of snowfall up there so far, it's looking pretty promising.

Actually, if you are staying here, those are pretty good plans for normal conditions. Maybe one week later for Telluride and that area? Others more familiar with the area will let you know.

First half of July can be very good in CB, but you need to wait for the 1st week of October for Telluride.

Spring suggestion: Usually Tucson area or southern Cal in April, but this year Cali is hurting for moisture so not a good year for them.
