Weekly Challenge #622 (02/16/14 - 02/22/14) Winter Activities - Submitted by Wayne Jones. Images that present the feeling of "c-c-c-coldness" with typical winter activities of people skiing, sled-riding, building a snowman, hiking while obviously freezing.

Thanks for recycling an old WC. (I think there are some that could be annual events.)

QUESTION: For this week's theme, can members ignore the "nature photo" rule in the Weekly Challenge "About This Gallery" rules, and also post photos that are not nature photography, but conform to the Pop Photo Gallery rules? (See quote below)

Nature Theme Photography
Presented by the Nature Photographers Network™

The Weekly Challenge photo critique gallery is intended for theme-based nature photos - view current and past themes. Regardless of theme, all photos must conform with the gallery guidelines the photo would normally be posted in - see Posting Guidelines.

And while we are on that topic, here's the same question in a more general context: When describing Weekly Challenge Themes, can the theme please include a sentence stating when the "nature photos" rule is to be suspended? (e.g. "For this weekly theme, images need not necessarily by nature photos, but may also include any image that would be appropriate for the Pop Photo Gallery.")

You might think that this request for clarity is unnecessary, since the nature of each Weekly Challenge theme makes it obvious whether or not the "nature photo" rule does not apply. However, members with images that fit the theme that also are nature photography images may tend to post only those. Thus we would miss their images that would only be appropriate in the Pop Photo Gallery.

(Whoa, sorry for the long-winded post! I just edited it, so it reads a little less like a bad novel.)

Thanks Donna. Good decision by all involved to make the gallery as inclusive as possible.
