OT: Winter in the Palouse
I had a business trip to eastern WA and detoured through the Palouse on my trip from Spokane to Kennewick. I photographed here 2 years ago in June but wanted to see what it looked like in winter. Well, 2 days after a foot of snow and some warm days to melt it, I was surprised to water everywhere. Some of the roads I wanted to take were flooded and there were mini lakes in most of the fields. Here's one image. Not a stellar image, just a record shot. 2 years ago I was able to step over this irrigation ditch and walk up to the barn. This time, not so much. Guess I'll have to stick to spring.

Once in Kennewick I was able to find a cool bridge. Not as technically great as Rich Voninski's image of another bridge down in Portland but a cool bridge just the same.

Wow, Bill, it warms up quickly in the Palouse! A foot of snow gone in two days! That much lingers around here for months. Excellent night shot of the bridge, and I like the double triangles.

Morris, I was given to understand that there were 2 days of 58 degrees following the snow. The Eastern Washington Solar Snow Removal company was hard at work. There was still quite a bit on the north side of the hills but mostly it melted enough to flood everything.
