I've recently moved all my images off my iMac HD on to an X-HD. The X-HD is connected via a firewire cable to my computer. I discovered, while preparing an image for printing from within LR5, that I need another firewire connection on my iMac to plug in my photo printer. Arrrg! Any ideas from the knowledgeable Nature Photographers community?

Hi Dottie:
Something sounds off here. Your printer is not likely to be a Firewire connection. It should connect via USB. It is probably the fatter usb (yes, that's a technical term ) on the printer end (it is really USB Type B), and a regular usb on the computer end.
If you are running Firewire 800 (squarish connector), you can daisy chain devices together with Firewire 800.

You are absolutely correct. It's a 'fat' USB. I've never hear of that. The fat USB is located in a rather dark recessed area and all I saw was a square. I just assumed it was a firewire. Thanks again.
