More Maui
Though this has been mostly a "read on the beach" vacation, here are a few more shots. As I was driving away from the waterfall, it occurred to me that there was a waterfall falling into a pool, yet the pool was almost still and carried the reflection of the waterfall in it -- how does that work? Too many mosquitos for me to go back & see if it actually emptied into a smaller pool at the back before trickling into the larger one.

Do you think the sun rays detract or add interest on this turtle shot?

I liked the texture of the leaves, tree root & rock

One last turtle shot

Monika, your turtles are great! I love the sunbeams in the first one, they make the shot! The waterfall shot is very interesting. You can see the circular motion of the water yet the still reflection of the falls and surrounding rocks in the pool, very cool! I find the bright area above the falls draws my eye, so maybe burning that in a bit would eliminate that distraction. The turtle shot with the sunbeams is certainly a winner!

Like Debbie said, the sunbeams are an essential part if the turtle image #2. At first, I was unsure of the reflections on top left, but a scroll crop showed that they too make the image nicer when included.

Love the first shot and the turtles!

The sunbeams are what makes the turtle shot special! Interesting that there are mosquitoes on Hawaii, I was hoping the islands were far enough from endemic areas to free of them. I guess I was just being hopelessly naive!

Thanks, everyone for your feedback. Now that I'm back & have my big monitor to look at things on, I can take care of the too-bright highlights that Debbie pointed out.
