Red-necked Grebe with chick

The chicks just hatched this weekend, so I had lots of joy observing them from a safe distance.

20D + 500/5 + tc1.4; iso400, f7.1 1/640, cropped to 70%.

Seems to be the time of year for youngster shots

Cute , hope they give you the chance for a few more closer shots.

I know it's a big crop, but a little more USM would give it a bit more "pop" on screen.

Nice behavioural shot. I would like the adult bird a bit bigger in the frame so the chick is clearer. Good luck getting more shots, a great subject.
