Eagles and Kestrels
I don't recall ever seeing a year with so many Bald Eagles in Colorado as I have seen this year. It has been fun. I also managed to find a few American Kestrels which are notoriously skittish.

Amazing--2,3, & 6 are just incredible! :toast:

Once again the master of avian photography shines with exceptional images! And yes, capturing Kestrels is normally quite difficult. I suspect they were more concerned about "breeding" than a photographer pointing a camera at them!

Wow great shots! I love all the action you got with all of these! Great light on #1! I love the kestrel in flight on #6 too! Where are you finding these wonderful eagles and kestrels? :toast:

No one does it better, Kurt! It's not just the perfect technique you use from field to finish, but the way you find such unique portraits and action that just makes a viewer really take note rather simply browsing through your work.
As for me, I always feel a bit blessed in getting to see these magnificent birds so close and so delightfully captured. Thank you, sir!

#4 is definitely my favorite because it is such a unique combination of not only a great kestrel image but it has 3 of them in an action packed image. Not easy to come by!

Everyone of these is great, but #1 and #4 really rock! Great work!

Thanks for all the kind words and comments.
Also wanted to say...I hope to see more posts on the forum once Spring gets here. Seems like the participation has declined. I really like this forum and sure hope it gets busy again. I love all the incredible photographers on this site and just don't want it to disappear.

Agreed Kurt--but lets face it the web dynamics have changed and im not sure what the solution is. Seems like you have to post on like 50 sites just to keep your name out there. Time is so precious id rather spend what little i have getting out there and experiencing things, and creating. Spending all my time on social media is not my idea of fun, but it is what it is.

Kurt, I really like the dynamics you caught in the Kestrel Trio. That image is certainly my choice of the set. I do not have any processing suggestions for it. Everything looks really good in it! My second choice is the eagle with the fish. The light is a little flat since it was overcast, so wonder if a slight levels tune would give some pop.
