Red Canyon
With a few clouds in the sky from a little disturbance passing trough northern Arizona last Saturday, I returned to this tributary canyon that Peter C, Shane M and I had seen a year ago. Feel free to give your preferences, suggestions and any nits. Another image is posted in the Landscape/ESS gallery.

#4 is neat but #1 is the jaw dropper for me. Put a bunch of guys on horses in that canyon and you have a John Ford western. Thanks for sharing.

#1 is striking, Doug! Those clouds, that particular set of formations and the soft light all combine to make this an excellent image. That should have been the one you posted at Landscape/ESS. I greatly prefer the shot you have at 500px over #3, and the version of #2 over the version you have in the landscape gallery.

#1 is my favorite! Great landscape!

#1 is definitely my favorite, I love the depth in the image and the graduation of light from foreground to background. Even the clouds are layered. Really fine work Doug! :toast:

Hi Doug, not much to add here. I think all are nice images but the first one is best of the bunch. What stands out to me is the excellent processing. The scene looks perfectly exposed and the colors look real which lends itself to appearing very believable, unlike some recently posted images of that canyon in the Landscape Gallery (Matt M)

Thank you for letting me know your thoughts and preferences. Getting John Wayne's horse out of the canyon would be difficult here. I think photographing from below would give some nice perspectives.

Wow...great series Doug. My first thought was exactly what Kane said....what an excellent job of processing these images. My favs are 1 and then 4. Great wall hangers. :toast:
