I haven't posted for a while. A new baby in the house makes it hard to travel; although I do get some early mornings to look through my older images.
It is so hard to say anything new about iconic locations, that I mostly avoid them. Arches NP, however is always an exciting experience. You've got to get up pretty early to beat the crowds. On this day, the blustery weather and off-season helped keep away a lot of people... at least long enough for me to get some photos without anybody in the frame.
This is a merged pano using a 20mm (32mm equiv) on my Pentax K5. Workhorse lens, and very nice-handling camera. Maybe it ends up with an 18-20mm field of view.
The color version is fairly blah. I really like Lightroom's ability to filter for different colors
I remember huffing and puffing up that slickrock. And then back down by headlamp. Nice angle. Wonder if it could use a little less sky for balance to the foreground? Like the B&W.
