I find this community to be very helpful and friendly, and a lot of the feedback I've got here has helped me grow artistically.
On that front, I have a couple of suggestions, or recommendations if you will.
I'd like to see a couple of features added to the site.
1) The ability to notify people about replies to a post that they have not authored. For example, let's say that Person "A" shared an image for critique. Person "B" is interested in the discussion and posts some comments/critiques in that thread. Later on, Person "C" has replied to "B", but "B" has no way of knowing that since Person "A" is the author of that post, and only he/she would be notified of responses.
This feature will help in having meaningful discussions between photographers, especially in the galleries, where often some technique or processing gem gets lost in the thread, and has poor visibility after newer images are posted.
2) The ability to replace images posted in the gallery with reposts. this will help draw the critics back to viewing the repost faster. Otherwise, one has to edit the title, post another image in the comments which makes it difficult to compare against the original.
I hope this thread spawns off some more new ideas and suggestions which will help this great community evolve further

Hi Sairam, I'm sure the reason this would not work is that every previous comment would make no sense. For example, if a commenter pointed out the image was way too dark, and the new image was corrected, then that persons point would not be valid.
So, the idea of adding a newer image and changing the title is at this point the best approach I would think. Then the new comments would be below the adjusted image and hopefully those comments would correspond to that later posted image.
Fair point Paul!
How about having the ability to use some sort of before after plugin with the site? I know wordpress sites support it. Would that be feasible.
I still feel the first suggestion I posted would be very invaluable. For example, John Williams has posted an excellent comment about his processing in the landscape gallery, which I don't think is visible to anyone, unless they stumble upon it

Sairam,
I'm sure there are options like this that might work well in the end, but any of it obviously requires system changes. Those always have a price tag and require re-engineering too, so, not always an easy answer overall.
I really do not have any thoughts on your first point, maybe others will happen along with some positive thoughts on that idea....
Sairam, for your first suggestion you can 'flag' the topic. Then any new comment causes the system to send an email alert. This is a good way to keep up on any photo or forum topic. 'Flag Topic' is located on the left side of the gray bar below each photo/topic and comment.
