I spent most of last week in south Texas on a photo trip. most of the time was spend at Santa Clara Ranch and then some at a local state park. TONS of images to work through. Here are a few of the quick ones I processed.
This first one is a Northern Bobwhite Quail. It is not to common to catch them leaping like this. So I was very fortunate to have been there at the right time.
As usual, a stellar set of images. For reasons I can't explain, the brown thrasher is my fav. I would like to see more of the green jay, as I haven't seen that one too many times.

Beautiful images as usual Kurt! I love all of them but the thrasher and the pyrrhuloxia are superb! Wish I could take such great shots.
Wow, Kurt, these are awesome! My favorite is the quail, it just gives off a feeling of happiness after a brief surprise!
I've wanted to hit a Texas ranch for a few years now, but have never committed to it. Mostly I guess because the season down there kind of sneaks up on you when you live in Colorado, since seasonally we're about 2-3 months behind south Texas. It looks like a very productive time.
