Excellent images on the link Stan. I am fearful of heights but this type of extreme activity doesn't bother me- It tends to get the adrenaline going in a good way. Sedona PhotoFest will have Mike Olbinski as a speaker on Friday - here's the blurb from the program:
Mike Olbinski – Storm Chaser!
Mike Olbinski’s time lapse photography of storms has gone viral catapulting him from obscurity to the center stage of Sedona PhotoFest 2014, CNN, and the Weather Channel. Mike will show his latest work and some storms that made him famous, talk about the thrill of chasing storms and the techniques he uses to capture the sublime using time-lapse photography. -mikeolbinski.com

Mike is a Phoenix area guy and will also be at a AZ ChaserCon in Chandler, AZ June 14th with other speakers on the topic. Here is the link to that event:

Chasing has got to be an adrenalin rush with a dedicated hail-beater car. I like the arcing cloud structure in "Stormy Birds"

This thread got me thinking about last year's colossal and sobering El Reno event. Found a few good follow-on reports and information on what happened to Tim Samaras' crew; Mike Bettes of Weather Channel; and others.

I'd love to do a T-chasing run myself. Out here I chase monsoon storms between Vegas and St George. With long range forecasts showing a significantly above-average precip for the Four Corners region from June - September, I suspect it coiuld be a good season. As always - be careful and keep your distance!

Thanks! Yes, this should be good monsoon season given the strong El Nino developing. CO could be good too for the next week...

Hi Stan, hope all is well. Well you're out doing your thing man, and I have no idea where you get the balls to chase these monsters. These scenes are the ultimate in drama, and given a great result would have to be almost addicting. The risk/reward factor for these scenes seems a bit out of my comfort zone for investing valuable resources. And for that I have a tremendous amount of respect for you and your brand.

All of these images are very dramatic and downright scary to me. I especially like the graveyard scene and the super wide angle view of the first one called "Night Approaches."

Great set Stan! My favorite is the Stormy Birds because it shows the shape of the cell and the layering of the clouds. Then Night Approaches, really nice lines of the road and the clouds into the image. Stay safe out there!

Cool series of images. I get the feeling you really dig storms.

Awesome images as usual Stan. Have you ever seen a tornado go through a wind farm and start hucking those propeller blades around?

That would be cool...
