I'm traveling to Denver next week for a conference & am staying over a few days in Estes Park just outside Rocky Mountain NP. I'm looking for suggestions on the best shooting locations in the park. I mostly shoot landscapes but am open to good wildlife photography as well. I only have three days there so I'd love to have some guidance.

I understand that the Trail Ridge Road has re-opened for the summer so that area is an option.

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!

With only 3 days my advice is go early in the day before the park is full of people! If open take Trail Ridge road. Go to Bear lake for sure, watch for bighorns in the Moraine Park area. It has been 5 years since I was there so some things may have changed like all of the road work going on back then. If you have the time to go to Mt. Evans, which is not in RMNP, and the road to the summit is open take a day to visit. It is high, so take your time and go easy! Trust me on this!
Hope you have a good time.

I was there a couple of weeks ago, I had very good luck seeing bighorns, go early morning to the sheep lakes inside the Fall River entrance. Bear lake on up to Dream lake are usually good places if lighting conditions cooperate. When I was there Bear lake was still froze over but the outlet half of Dream lake was ice free. The Loch up in Glacier Gorge is beautiful but is probably still too early in the season, would be a lot of snow and ice. Trail Ridge was open but closed the day before I intended on driving over to the west side. Enjoy your trip! :toast:
