I ventured up to Chasm Lake this morning for a sunrise shoot. I got lucky that I got light early, 20 minutes after this, clouds blocked everything and that was that. The main part of the lake is still pretty full of ice, but it is changing quickly. I'd guess the next couple weekends if you want ice bobbing around in the water.

Hi Josh, nice work man, including that very respectable hike to make it for the 5:30ish sunrise. The scene is huge and I'm willing to bet you used 14mm to capture this scene. There's not too many mountain scenes in Colorado that scream for 14mm. I think you've done as well with this one, or at least as well as the conditions permitted. The comp and color wok well here and all that's missing is clouds. Thanks for sharing!
Ken, just a couple small patches and about 200ft worth of snow pack on the Mt. Washington slope. I used my new microspikes with my treking poles there and had no issues.
Kane, yes this is the 14-24@14. It's pretty rare that I wish for wider than that, but 12 would have been nice. There was just the few clouds upper right and left when I shot this, nothing above the peaks, and it never did really light up with color. I like the shot though, and feel very fortunate to have seen and captured it. The light only lasted maybe 20 minutes, and then clouds to the east socked in and killed it. It even briefly snowed on me on the way back down.
