I think I'm headed that way tomorrow after work to shoot the wildflowers this weekend. Anyone else planning on being around? I'll be in my silver/mud colored Jeep.
It's kinda hard to get a read on. I think it may be slightly past peak. My "go to" spot (flower hill last year) certainly didn't have the same density of flowers, and the mule ears were starting to fade. Washington(?) gulch road heading NW out of town however seemed pretty good, with more Indian paintbrush than I remember in there. Either way, I'm not really "feeling it" and am going scouting near Salida.
Thanks Josh, I'm off next Sun-Weds. I haven't been to the Colorado mountains this season yet and I'm making that happen. I think I'm going alpine flowers. Thinking Highland Mary Lakes, Wetterhorn Basin, Capitol Peak Lake Basin, or Silver Basin. Its tough to pin this season down because of the lack of updated info out there.
CB / Kebler Pass / Ohio Pass were all rocking pretty solid last Sunday, en route home from Telluride area. If I wasn't already booked with stuff to tackle this coming weekend, I'd be going back to that area for more exploration and shooting!
