Tareq, at the top of the page use the drop down marked "Gallery", then seek out the gallery listed as "Weekly Challenge". Post your image in the "Weekly Challenge" based upon what the "Theme" is for a given week. The upcoming theme of "Heat" does not start until the date listed, (07/27/14 - 08/02/14), and will run for the one week. Then a new theme will be posted here as Mark has done this week.
Mark or Paul,
I followed Paul's instructions and on the weekly challenge gallery there is no mention of the topic for the current gallery. One must surf around to find it and when I did I then saw a list of, apparently, all previous weekly challenges. Based on those topics, the photos displayed look like a combination of every image ever submitted for all challenges. Is this so? How do I see only the entries for the current weekly challenge?
Thanks
PS: It would be a very nice touch if the current weekly challenge topic was displayed on the page with the photos

Not a bad idea there John. That would be something for Mark and Jim to maybe work through.

The only way to see the present images listed for a challenge is by the current weekly date from Sunday thru Saturday of that week. Many times, and helpful, folks will post in the image title the given challenge number, but not always.
Hi John, you're right about needing to "search" to find the list of topics. They're listed under the weekly themes link in the page header and next weeks is the last one listed. A new set will be posted sometime next week (we're always looking for suggestions, ) that will cover the next couple of months.
Yes, all posts are collected in the gallery without a clear indication as to which theme they were posted for unless the posters include the challenge number. To change the grouping would require a major reprogramming effort and I think that once you get used to our current approach, it won't be such a bother.
Your idea of showing the theme in the Gallery header is a good one, albeit one that would require a significant programming effort or personal effort when you think about needing to change the topic at midnight Saturday (or sometime early Sunday). I'll pass that along to Jim E.
In the Guidelines for the Weekly Challenge, #2 says:
"Images must be identified in the subject line as a specific WC image. Example; WC#92 - (enter brief title here)"
Following these guidelines would help identify the specific WC.
