Hi,

I think there might be someone out there who can help me with my strange problems!!

I have been using my macbook version 10.5.8 for my photo editing using Adobe Bridge and Adobe CS5. Recently, I have purchased a NEC P242W monitor and I calibrated it with the same device, Spyder 3 Elite as I calibrate my macbook monitor.
I have connected the NEC to my macbook with HDMI cable.

Now, the problems that I have are:

1-The images in my NEC appears to be more contrasty especially B+W image looks like finished images even though they are just out of camera and changed to grayscale only, but not in the macbook.

2-Viewing an image without changing any adjustments appears with different colors in Bridge and PS using NEC, but it looks the same in my macbook monitor!

3-This one is very strange to me: I was checking images of dark pink Geranium in NEC monitor, they looked as described in number 1 &2, but the strange is here that when I magnify them to 100% view the suddenly the pink color goes very dark saturated high magenta with a very bad quality image and when I change it to normal view the color still stays the same!!!!
It seams like my new NEC monitor is changing the colors (or some colors) automatically or like applying some preset editing!!!

I cannot adjust contrast, the contrast the contrast option is not highlighted on the monitor.

I purchased this monitor via ebay as manufacturer refurbished for US$423 plus shipment and I have received it 3 weeks ago. Of course their return policy is 14 days, but they say our products have 30 days warranty.

I am not sure if I am doing something wrong or there is an issue with the monitor.

Does anyone have any idea what might be going wrong here?
Is there any adjustment in CS5 that I have to change and if there is why I don't face these problems with my macbook monitor?

Any help and ideas would be highly appreciated.

Thanks in advance for your help and time,

Mo

I don't know what's going wrong, but here's a suggestion. See if the monitor has calibration pre-sets. If it does, try sRGB or Adobe rgb. If it looks right, you're done.
