High Uintas
I spent the last few days in the Uinta Mts here in Utah. An awesome place and close to home!

I'll describe this first one the way I saw a Bob Ross episode described on the guide. (I'm sure you all know; the painter with the sweet fro!)

"Mountain Lake" - High peaks, tranquil lakes, and smooth grass.

Thanks for looking and C&C if you want.

Hi Jeff, I think the first one has the most potential. The scene is stellar, the composition is stellar. The little tree on the right anchors the foreground and total image very well. I think this one comes down to your processing. Overall, not bad...but "safe" to me. If you keep this processing, be aware your reflection exposure virtually mimic's your mountain exposure. I would darken the lake exposure a bit. I recommend challenging yourself to make this scene a bit more contrasty. You have the light to make this one sing. Maybe divide this one in half, feather it, then work the upper and bottom exposures to taste. Just an idea.

Thanks for the comments! Kane, I know the first one needs some more contrast. I don't know what happened except that is what happens when processing too late at night. I have seen all of our suggestions before you even mentioned them, thanks for saying them though and I appreciate your time.

Great images, Jeff. The first one is my favorite with the excellent comp and reflection. I agree with Kane's suggestion to darken the reflection slightly. (How were the mosquitos?)

Gorgeous scenery and images Jeff. I especially like the 3rd one, I just want to be there! The 1st one is my next favorite, just a really nice comp and great conditions. To me the reflections look as bright as the mountain and trees and look like they should be a little darker. Great set! :toast:

Nice shots all around! The first being my favorites, I'd say. I've only been into the Uintas once before and got skunked on photos... it's been on my wish list to get back there for a long trek.

How were the mosquitos?

Thanks for the comments. As for the mosquitos I was lucky and I did not have to use my repellent once. I was very surprised.

I like the composition in #1. Maybe see if you like adding a slight amount of contrast.
