Adobe Bridge CC 2014 won't Save Sort

When I upgraded from CC to CC 2014, Bridge stopped saving my sort and now sorts by name each time I ope it. I want it sorted by date modified so I have to re-sort it each time.

I tried removing my cache but besides making it very slow, didn't fix anything.

I tried looking online but couldn't find anything either.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Dan, a thought that is painful and time-consuming but might work.. Have you re-loaded the software?

Best wishes with this problem.

Dan, sounds like your .plist file has gone corrupt or wonky. If you moved the cache then the offending file just went with it so the problem won't go away. First thing I would do is Purge Cache in the Preferences section (under "Cache"). You will lose the thumbs you have built with previous views, but it's a necessary evil. If that doesn't do it, try this, but know that this will wipe your workspaces you may have saved, but it will probably fix it if just purging cache doesn't do it:

1.Start Adobe Bridge and immediately press Ctrl+Alt+Shift (Windows) or Command+Option+Shift (Mac OS) until the Reset Settings dialog box appears.

2.Select all three options--Reset Preferences, Reset Standard Workspaces, and Purge Entire Thumbnail Cache--and then click OK.

Actually, you should be able to re-download any saved workspaces I just realized, now that Adobe saves them in the vapor...er...cloud.

Last note on Cache: it was always stressed to place your Cache folder on a different drive if possible, to spread the load and make it run a bit faster, and that was true. But if your Mac/PC runs off of an SSD as your main drive, you DEFINITELY want to keep the cache on the SSD even if you have a 2nd drive that's mechanical. The speed of an SSD far outruns any spinning platter. I actually installed an additional 128GB SSD (69 bucks now!) that is solely the cache drive for Photoshop and Premiere and After Effects, etc. Big difference.

Hope the Purge works!

Thank you Paul. I was afraid it was going to be something like this. I'll need to find some time to try this.
