Been playing with the Lens Baby again. This rose was shot at f2.8 by window light utilizing one of the close-up filters in the macro kit. I'm really liking the feeling of softness and fragility this lens imparts to flowers.
Wow! Thank you all! I was a little hesitant to post another Lens Baby photo because it's different from the excellent tack sharp images I see here and are usually expected from nature photographers.
That's exactly what I was thinking here too. I always try so hard to make my pictures sharp from back to front--going OOF seemed like something I wouldn't do, but I guess that's when art is created--when you break the rules! I'm too cheap to buy a lensbaby, but I wonder if the vaseline on a filter trick does a similar effect.

I don't think so. I use to do that back in my dark days as a wedding photographer. The center is too sharp. You'd almost have to stack the vaseline filter on a very light soft focus filter. The difference with the Lens Baby is you can move the sweet spot around via the bellows movements, and the sweet spot is not tack sharp like todays lenses.

Well done!!
But you may have screwed up by encouraging me.
There's more where that one came from.

I agree with the rest. Very creative. Nice work!
